Parkinson’s UK Scotland is one of the charities being supported by fundraising at the Highlands and Islands Press Ball and Media Awards 2026
The charity has launched the Parkinson’s UK Nurse Appeal which aims to raise £9 million over three years.
Thousands of people with Parkinson’s don’t have access to health specialists they desperately need to live well with the condition.
The appeal is raising money to create more specialist roles. Living with Parkinson’s, and supporting someone with the condition, is tough.
And as Parkinson’s progresses, your need for specialist healthcare grows. With the right support, people can live well with the condition. But there are huge pressures on the health service right now.
Money raised from the appeal will increase the number of Parkinson’s specialists. This will give thousands of people with Parkinson’s access to the specialist care they need.
