
IT’S THE MEDIA’S FAULT: DEMAND LEADS TO RETURN OF POPULAR EVENT
GET YOUR ENTRIES READY FOR THE HIGHLANDS AND ISLANDS MEDIA AWARDS
To mark the anniversary of last year’s Highlands and Islands Press Ball and Media Awards the much-anticipated annual event will be back in 2025.
Clear your diary as the premier media event in the north of Scotland will be held on Friday February 7 2025 at the Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness.
Tickets priced £35 for journalists and £50 for corporate guests, are now on sale via the HIPBMA website here.
From today we are also seeking entries for the Highlands and Islands media Awards – see below for further information.
HIPBMA is the only event that brings together the media industry across the vast and dispersed Highlands and Islands region.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- To ensure HIPBMA remains primarily a media occasion, only journalists and PR managers based in, or regularly working in, the Highlands and Islands may book tickets.
- Tables of 10 can be booked by individuals or organisations
- Corporate tables must consist primarily of PR managers and senior managers in regular contact with the media.
- Corporate tables MUST contain at least one H&I journalist, and preferably more.
- Ticket prices include a complimentary drink on arrival, three-course meal and a ceilidh featuring our resident band The Black Isle Peas.
VENUE
HIPBMA 2025 will be held in the Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness
- The hotel is generously offering special HIPBMA B&B rates of £95 for Classic bedrooms and £115 for Luxury bedrooms (both based on 2 guests sharing). Supplements will apply for other room types.
- The same rates apply for Saturday, February 8, while rates of £85 (Classic) and £105 (Luxury) apply for Thursday, February 6
- Guests are responsible for reserving their own rooms. Reservations need to be confirmed 30 days prior to the event to guarantee the special rate.

CHARITIES
We will have our usual fundraising activities in support of four local charities. It would be much appreciated if you could contact us if you wish to donate prizes to our auction, raffle or tombola.

HIGHLANDS AND ISLAND MEDIA AWARDS
The Highlands and Islands Media Awards officially open for entries today.
Our judges are waiting to review the leading stories, features and pictures from 27th November 2023 until 29th November 2024 and decide who should win the coveted titles.
Please check the guidelines and send all entries by 5pm, Friday, 29th November 2024 to Suzanne Kane at skane@kanepartnership.com
Winners will be announced at the Highlands and Islands Press Ball and Media Awards, to be held on Friday, 7th February 2024 at the Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness.
We will be advising shortlisted entrants as early as possible. However, given the demand for seats at the ball, we would advise early booking to secure your spot.
We are also seeking nominations for the Barron Trophy, the prestigious award that recognises a lifetime of achievement in journalism in the Highland and Islands. A short commendation should accompany the nomination. Please send to awards chairperson, Nicola McAlley nicola.mcalley@hotmail.co.uk
