Centred Scotland
Centred Scotland, formerly Birchwood Highland, is the largest provider of mental health support in the Highlands and has been providing innovative support for people with mental ill-health since 1987.
The charity’s Recovery Centre in Inverness provides residential support to 23 people who have recently left hospital and was the first of its kind in Scotland.
Its pioneering Discovery College in the Eastgate Centre in Inverness and in the Wellington Centre in Wick are also the first of their kind in the region. They provide free, empathetic face-to-face support delivered by people who have also experienced mental ill health and addiction.
The charity also operates community support services and care at home to the elderly, focusing on those with dementia in Inverness-shire, Easter Ross, Lochaber and Caithness which help hundreds of people in their own homes every year, including in some of the most rural and isolated communities.
Parkinson’s UK Scotland
Around 13,000 people in Scotland are living with Parkinson’s, and that number is rising. Each week, around 30 more families hear the life-changing words: ‘You have Parkinson’s.’
It’s a diagnosis that brings uncertainty, loss of independence and a range of complex symptoms that affect every part of daily life and often become harder to manage over time. There is currently no cure.
At Parkinson’s UK Scotland, we’re here for every stage of the journey. As the leading charity supporting people with Parkinson’s in Scotland, we’ve been working for over 50 years to improve life for everyone affected through better care and pioneering research.

Nairn beach wheelchairs
We are a small, community-run charity made up of nearly 30 dedicated volunteers who have come together to make Nairn Beach accessible to everyone.
Our mission is simple: to ensure that everyone can enjoy the glorious Nairn coastline, no matter what their mobility or disabilities may be.
Thanks to the generosity and hard work of our community, we have now purchased five specialised beach wheelchairs designed to meet a range of needs for both children and adults.
The chairs are stored in our new cabin beside the beach and are free to borrow. Our trained volunteers are on hand to support visitors and a hoist is available when needed to make transfers safe and comfortable.
Since opening in April 2025, we’ve supported over 70 joyful beach trips, each one a testament to what can be achieved when a community pulls together.
It’s been an incredible journey of inclusion, kindness, and seaside smiles.

Held In Our Hearts
Held In Our Hearts is a Scottish charity with over 40 years of experience providing baby loss counselling and support to families in the community. Our mission is to ensure that no one is alone after the loss of a pregnancy, baby or infant. We do this by providing free, specialist, trauma-informed, early-intervention Hospital to Home support, specialist counselling and long-term peer support.
Baby loss is an incredibly isolating experience, families often feel overwhelmed and alone in their grief, and struggle to find others who understand. Our trained peer supporters are all bereaved parents themselves, so can support families from a place of shared experience, understanding and true empathy.
With Held In Our Hearts’ support, families can build resilience and adjust to life after loss, so much so that they can begin to socialise again, communicate openly about their grief and return to daily routines. From the earliest days of loss to the months and years that follow, we walk alongside families with empathy, connection, and love.
